Process control manufacturer expands sales to South Africa

9th March 2018

Die-casting process control systems manufacturer Visi-Trak Worldwide has expanded its direct sales distribution to several countries, including South Africa, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea and to South-East Asia.

The company explains that this expands on its current network of direct sales in the US, Mexico, Europe and Japan. Visi-Trak highlights that it has developed a heritage of good designs and high-performance process monitoring and control systems for a range of die-casting systems and manufacturers.

“We’ve developed a range of products that can support both the advanced monitoring and control needs of mature die-casting markets like Europe and the US as well as emerging markets like South Korea and India. With these new relationships, we have experts on the ground to support the growth of all those businesses,” says Visi-Trak Worldwide CEO Jack Vann.

He explains that Visi-Trak provides universal monitoring and control systems, the True-Trak 20/20TM and the Sure-Trak2TM, with the ability to tie together die-casting machines from almost every major manufacturer.

“This gives new life and capabilities to old machines and provides ongoing expert support for ageing or unsupported die-casting machines,” he says.

He further notes that the company provides monitoring and control systems for use with machine manufacturer HPM, die-casting machine manufacturer Frech, die-casting machine manufacturer IDRA, die-casting machine manufacturer Prince, machine manufacturer Bühler, machine producer UBE, machine manufacturer and distributor Toshiba, die-casting machine manufacturer Die-Cast Press and machine manufacturer LK Machine.

Complete Control
Vann highlights that, over time and through consolidation, die-casters use machines from a variety of manufacturers and these machines come with unique monitoring and control systems to learn, manage and maintain.

“Today’s die-casting environment means making the most of your capital investment and increasing your margins is more important than ever. Without the support of the original manufacturer, ageing systems can quickly turn into a liability,” he says.

He explains that the True-Trak 20/20TM and the Sure-Trak2TM provides proven and supported upgrade paths for your HPM die-casting machines as well as others.

“We see operators running from discrete control module (DCM) to DCM, with thumb drives to back up data. We see shift managers trying to make sense of the production data from six different manufacturers. It’s an inefficient and fractured operational view. With a Visi-Trak universal monitoring and control solution, you can see consistent data from every machine you own in one place. Just one system to learn, manage and maintain. It completely changes the way our customers view their business,” says Visi-Trak engineering VP Ying Shen.

He highlights that the company’s universal monitoring and control systems allow machine operators to standardise controls on a single system regardless of the make-up of an operation.

“Our quality assurance philosophy is based on defect prevention, not detection. About 33 die-casting machines from various manufacturers are integrated on a single system that gives us the process information we need to make the difficult castings that comprise the bulk of our work today. Visi-Trak’s process monitoring system is the cornerstone of our process control system,” concludes PHB Die-Casting process control manager
Joe Comstock.
