A new World Health Organisation research study suggests that South Africa has the highest rate of high blood pressure for people aged 50 and over for any country in the world – 78% of those involved in the study tested positive for hypertension. With persistent crime, rampant road carnage, rising costs, political posturing and service delivery worries, it should come as no surprise that citizens are feeling the strain.
