Prepaid electricity meter offers accuracy and reliability

The Hexing HXE115-KP meter operates on the JKNV Energy vending platform and integrates with EasyPay

Prepaid electricity meters are seen as a convenient solution for managing electricity usage and costs, especially for rental properties, existing or new installations in domestic homes, cottages, townhouse units, complexes, flats or retail outlets.

Hexing HXE115-KP electricity prepaid meters are single-phase domestic units with tamper state detection, designed for reliability, accuracy and ease of use.

A main advantage of the meters is that more than one device can be installed on a single property, allowing individual tenants to buy distinct units of electricity. This helps to make the meters easy to use, improves consistency and saves time for both tenants and landlords.

Additional features include:

The Hexing HXE115-KP meter operates on the JKNV Energy vending platform and integrates with EasyPay. It is marketed as a high quality, low cost, new generation single phase residential 80 A prepaid meter, that complies with STS and British Standard specifications.

Each meter has an unique meter number and electricity credit is entered into the prepaid meter in the form of a secure 20 digit token, using the numeric keypad. Secure data transfer takes place by means of an STS encryption algorithm and all correctly entered tokens are registered, helping to eliminate token fraud.

The meter features an integrated numeric keypad to record tokens, and a user-friendly interface with a custom-designed LCD display that counts down as electricity is consumed.

The wall-mounted unit includes advanced tamper reduction with a clear PVC wiring cover for easy viewing of connection cables and inspections, as well as an anti-tamper sensor which locks the meter.

JKNV Energy asserts that its prepaid meters are the first choice for landlords and property managers across Johannesburg and Pretoria and the company also installs units in other areas on request, or supplies units for self-installation.
