Newly appointed High Court judge Advocate Tintswalo Annah Nana Makhubele has resigned as interim chairperson of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).

Makhubele, who tendered her resignation last week, has, since taking up the position of interim chairperson in October 2017, had to deal with a number of organisational challenges, which included ongoing investigations arising out of the Public Protector’s report, the Auditor-General’s findings and a National Treasury report, as well as leadership instability.

She will take up the position as High Court judge on April 1.
