Atlas Copco's portable E-AIR VSD electric compressor
A new electric portable compressor range incorporating a variable speed drive (VSD) is said to deliver all the benefits of quality air without the emissions of a diesel-driven machine.
Atlas Copco asserts that its E-AIR VSD electric compressor range has been developed to be emission-free, silent, efficient, versatile and reliable, offering a sustainable solution for a cleaner environment.
The electric compressor is said to be an ideal solution for sites that are not connected to the grid, while also lowering cost of ownership. The compressor is designed with fewer parts, reducing maintenance and service intervals are every 2 000 hours or two years.
Featuring silent operation, with noise levels as low as 61 Db(A) and no emissions, the electric compressors are particularly suited for use in low emission, underground, indoor and closed-off zones such as tunnels. The compact, low weight machines can be easily towed to and moved around the jobsite. Once plugged in and the pressure is set, the E-Air is able to produce quality compressed air to efficiently drive a range of pneumatic equipment.
