Petrol price to decrease, but diesel price to rise

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy on May 31 announced a 10c/ℓ decrease in the petrol price for June.

The price of 0.005% sulphur diesel will, however, increase by 21c/ℓ and that of 0.05% sulphur diesel by 20c/ℓ.

Further, the price of liquefied petroleum gas will decrease by R1.43/kg.

The average Brent crude oil price increased from $64.16/bl to $66/bl during the period under review, while the rand appreciated, on average, to R14.11 against the dollar.
