Petrol price drop to bring consumer relief

South African consumers can expect some relief in September, with the fuel price for 93 and 95 unleaded petrol falling by 18c/ℓ, and the diesel price dropping by 48c/ℓ.

The fall is attributable to the strengthening of the rand against the dollar, which has cushioned the fuel price by about 22c/ℓ.

The wholesale price for illuminating paraffin will also drop by 47c/ℓ, while the single maximum national retail price is down 63c/ℓ.

Liquified petroleum gas will also see a decrease of 9c/kg during the month.
