The latest version of the next-generation Security Operations Centre (SOC) is a fully managed platform for monitoring, managing and proactively maintaining cybersecurity environments. The system integrates predictive, machine-learning-enabled cybersecurity tools that are said to be aligned with international best practices. In addition, information technology staff are offered training and systems are upgraded when necessary, at no additional cost.
The solution from AVeS Cyber Security aims to give companies access to actionable intelligence with comprehensive visibility of security-type logs, without sharing confidential customer information. It is built on several technologies to monitor companies' cyber environments, integrating with almost any application and system. It is designed to proactively monitor critical firewall event logs firewall uptime, endpoint security, critical server system logs, email security and global threat feeds on behalf of subscribing clients. The logs are ingested into the SOC toolsets and a team of security experts oversee and respond to the security alerts generated by the system. In addition, the system promises in-depth tracking and analysis of cyber-related threats to companies.
Offered as a fully managed service, the system aims to eliminate the need for on-site SOC infrastructure and in-house cybersecurity analysts. The model is based on three standards of best practice, namely COBIT 2019, the NIST cybersecurity framework and the SANS cyber incident management framework and allows for active incident response.
SOC tools, such as log collectors, are installed on a client's network in the areas where log ingestion is needed. Secure site-to-site virtual private network will also be configured for remote dashboards and alerts into the next-generation SOC.
Pricing for services is based on the amount of data or logs in gigabytes consumed per day. The service includes around-the-clock monitoring, threat analysis, monthly risk profile reports, cyber incident response and a dedicated dashboard. The consumption-based managed security services concept is seen as a new innovation throughout Africa.
