Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital seeks to bring hope

The brainchild and dream of former statesman Nelson Mandela, who encouraged society’s involvement in the nurturing and safeguarding of children, The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, will soon launch. Megan van Wyngaardt tells us more.

Megan van Wyngaardt:
The R1-billion project, in Parktown, Johannesburg, has a number of centres of excellence for paediatric care and boast 200 beds and 10 theatres. The hospital would start taking in its first patients next year. Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital interim CEO Joe Seoloane gave a little insight.

However, Seoloane noted that there was room for improvement in future.

Further, Seoloane said that the hospital was not only centred around children, but around their families too.
