Project Description
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park is the biggest single-site solar park in the world that is based on the independent power producer model. It will generate 1 000 MW by 2020 and 5 000 MW by 2030.
The project will be completed in phases.
Phase 1 entailed the construction of a 13 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility.
Phase 2 entailed the construction of a 200 MW PV plant.
The second phase, with an output of 200 MW, was launched in March 2017.
Phases 3 and 4 will comprise the construction of an 800 MW and 200 MW CSP facility respectively.
