Mitchell Slape’s appointment as CEO and executive director of retail giant Massmart has been confirmed for September 1, following the approval and grant of his intra-company transfer permit and visa to work in South Africa.
As a result, Guy Hayward will step down and resign as CEO, executive director and committee member of Massmart and its committees with effect from August 31.
He will, however, remain with Massmart until December to ensure a smooth handover and transition.
