Location
The project will be located close to Metz Masrik and Vardenis, in the province of Gegharkunik, in Armenia.

Project Owner/s
Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) and FSL Solar.

Project Description
The project is part of Armenia’s national plan for the development of renewable energy.

The 55 MW plant will have an area of about 100 ha and power about 21 400 Armenian homes, as well as reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by about 54 000 t of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year.

The plant will be connected to the distribution network through a new 9.2-km-long, 110 kV overhead transmission line to be linked to the existing distribution lines owned by High Voltage Electric Network.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create 240 temporary jobs during construction and about 12 jobs permanent jobs once the plant starts operating.

Capital Expenditure
The project is estimated at $57-million.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is expected to start construction this year and enter into operation in 2021.
