Project Description
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) won the first-of-its-kind, manufacturing-linked solar agreement from the SECI in June this year.

The award is the largest of its type in the world.

The project involves the development of the single-largest solar project in the world, with a total capacity of 8 GW.

The renewable energy generated will displace 900-million tonnes of carbon dioxide.

The project includes a commitment from Adani Solar, a subsidiary of AGEL, to establish 2 GW of additional solar cell and module manufacturing capacity.

Potential Job Creation
The investment will lead to the creation of about 400 000 direct and indirect jobs.

Capital Expenditure
The project involves a $6-billion investment.

Planned Start/End Date
The project will be completed over 60 months.

The first 2 GW of solar generation capacity will come online by 2022 and the subsequent 6 GW capacity will be added in 2 GW yearly increments until 2025.

The solar cell and module manufacturing capacity of 2 GW will be established by 2022.
