Manufacturer suggests nylon as best fastener material

PROMISING OUTLOOK Nylon fasteners have a promising sales outlook, owing to their being a fast, easy and more cost-effective solution

Fastening systems manufacturer Easyhold operations director Simon Barnard says nylon is the best plastic compound to use because of the functionality required for fasteners.

Nylon has the flexibility and strength to generate strong pull or force for the company’s Easyhold fastener range avoiding damage to the fasteners upon installation.

“Easyhold nylon fasteners are commonly used in sectors where an application for wiring or piping is needed,” he says.

Barnard explains that the company mainly supplies to wholesalers and agencies in South Africa, and its most popular product is the Easyhold 8 mm wall anchor.

Owing to its various capabilities, the wall anchor can secure cable and piping from

5 mm to 80 mm in diameter. Barnard notes that the life span of the nylon fasteners is “almost endless”.

“As a result of the fasteners not being exposed to outside elements, they will stay intact. “As long as the material that the fasteners are embedded into – such as bricks, concrete and wood – are still a standing structure,” he says.

Barnard adds that nylon fasteners have a promising sales outlook, owing to their being a fast, easy and more cost-effective solution.

The company’s aim in providing the solution is to save more time and money, compared with other solutions on the market.

Further, he notes that, in terms of research and development initiatives, the company is working on a few new products.

“Easyhold is a multi-manufacturer of plastic goods for various sectors of industry. “Our speciality is making good-quality products, that are easy to use, at the right price,” he says.
