LEDVANCE lighting the way to a greener future

NEWLY LAUNCHED The latest addition to the company's portfolio will be available in February 2022.

Inspired by a strong customer focus and a commitment to high quality standards in all its processes, international lighting company LEDVANCE considers sustainability a “fundamental component” of business ethics, and crucial to the company’s strategic decisions.

This approach, the LEDVANCE team explains, sees the company working to realise the “unlimited possibilities” of light by working together with the company’s stakeholders to sustainably improve people’s quality of life.

In an effort to mitigate the global challenges surrounding climate change and resource scarcity, LEDVANCE aims to reduce the consumption of natural resources, and to save energy during production thereby helping to reduce emissions.

“We recycle lamps and other materials to minimise waste,” the company tells Engineering News, adding that the commitment also extends to its employees and customers.

We take responsibility for our employees and locations and promote sustainable action in the lighting industry. “We help our customers save energy and reduce environmental footprints,” the company notes.

Moreover, owing to the adaptive market and its move to current available compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), more commonly known as “energy savers”, LEDVANCE has developed a similar stick-shaped LED product designed to meet the demands of the end consumer.

This move, the LEDVANCE team says, is evidence of increased awareness surrounding reducing environmental impact.

The company also offers a load-shedding-friendly alternative – a rechargeable LED lamp – that can assist consumers during periodical blackouts.

The 9 W Dimmable LED Stick, designed to fit easily into most light fittings, extends the LEDVANCE LED lamp range offering with additional color, temperature and functionality.

Apart from energy savings of up to85%, the new 9 W Dimmable LED Stick provides quality light output of up to 1 050 lumens, as well as the ability to dim.

The dimmer compatibility list is available from the company, or on request.

The latest addition to the LEDVANCE range will be available this month.

As a trusted partner in general lighting, LEDVANCE offers a broad variety of innovative light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires, advanced LED lamps, intelligent smart home and smart building solutions, as well as traditional light sources.

LEDVANCE’s “Smart+” portfolio, in particular, now allows consumers to control their lights via smart devices and voice control.

The ultraviolet C, or UVC, product range, meanwhile, disinfects the environment, ensuring a healthy atmosphere in homes and office spaces, ultimately helping in the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
