Lama power station extension – Unit 10 project, China

Name and Location
Lama power station extension – Unit 10 project, Hong Kong, China.

Client
The Hongkong Electric Company.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of a natural-gas-fired gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation system for the Lamma power station extension – Unit 10 – with an output of about 350 MW.

The GTCC power generation facilities will be built on Lamma Island, to the south-west of Hong Kong Island, adjacent to the existing Unit 9.

The work is part of a large-scale project under way, in line with government’s policy of targeting the expansion of Hong Kong’s ratio of gas-fired power generation as a way of reducing the environmental impact.

Once in operation, the new facility will respond to Hong Kong Island’s robust power demand.
