Together with oil- and gas-handling equipment specialist Valerus, global engineering specialist Kentz was acquired in 2014 by Montreal-based global engineering firm SNC-Lavalin to further enhance SNC-Lavalin’s oil and gas business, which now offers complete end-to-end services across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors in every region of the world.

With offices in over 50 countries and a staff complement of about 40 000, SNC-Lavalin provides engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for clients in a variety of industrial sectors, including oil and gas, mining and metallurgy, infrastructure and power.

The TSX-listed company also offers complete end-to-end project solutions.

SNC-Lavalin’s world-class expertise in financing and asset management, EPCM, as well as operations and maintenance, provides the company with a powerful vehicle for delivering outstanding value to its stakeholders across the four main sectors that the company services.

SNC-Lavalin’s oil & gas business sector offer a full range of EPC services for both greenfield and brownfield projects, from early studies and front-end engineering design to construction, completions and commissioning, as well as maintenance, shutdowns and turnarounds, and sustaining capital services.

The company’s local coverage enables it to provide comprehensive services related to the production, transportation, processing, upgrading and delivery of conventional energy resources, chemicals, petrochemicals and synthetic fuels for its clients quickly, reliably and competitively.

According to SNC-Lavalin’s 2014 annual financial report, the company saw a yearly turnover of $8.2-billion and fixed assets valued at $5-billion. As at March 2014, its order book value was $3.284-billion.
