The Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) has appointed Pat Semenya CEO, effective July 1.

She succeeds Gillian le Cordeur, who has led the organisation for the past ten years.

Semenya has served as CEO of accountancy at Acca South Africa and as trade assets optimisation lead for food and beverage company Nestlé Professional South Africa.

IRMSA president Thabile Nyaba says Semenya joins the organisation at a critical juncture as risk management is now front and centre in the boardroom, as companies continue to manage the threats and opportunities of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“She brings a notable skills set to the job as more executives are recognising the importance and benefits of a clearly defined risk strategy,” Nyaba states.
