The Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) in Johannesburg will be hosting a high-profile Japanese business delegation from February 12 to 16.

Comprising 27 representatives from various international Japanese private and public organisations, the delegation is eager to explore opportunities in South Africa's burgeoning green hydrogen sector.

The delegation's visit follows a series of webinars organised by Jetro Johannesburg throughout last year. These seminars aimed at promoting South Africa as a key player in the global green hydrogen economy.

During its stay, the Japanese delegation will visit key sites in Gauteng and the Western Cape, and engage in crucial meetings with relevant South African private and public stakeholders.

These interactions aim to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between the Japanese and South African entities, ultimately contributing to the growth of the green hydrogen sector.

Green hydrogen has emerged as a strategic focus for both Japan and South Africa, and this delegation is being signalled as a demonstration of the commitment of Japanese businesses and government organisations to actively explore and contribute to the development of this promising industry in South Africa.
