Global consultancy Hatch has attained a Level 1 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment rating.

“We embrace diversity as the catalyst to grow the economy by rectifying the exclusion of previously disadvantaged groups from gaining access to South Africa’s wealth, income equality and skills development, which aligns with our corporate vision to passionately pursue a better world through positive change,” says Hatch Africa, Middle East and Europe regional MD Pierre Olivier.

The company began its transformation journey in 2001, exceeding targets year after year.

For example, to assist entrepreneurs, Hatch developed and refined its supplier development (SD) programme, for which it won an ABSA Supplier Development Award.

Hatch has worked with 16 SD partner organisations, of which ten were black-women-owned, and of which five were youth-owned.

In the past 14 years, Hatch has invested R23.6-million into enterprise and SD programmes.

Additionally, Hatch invested R307-million over the past 14 years into skills development, providing 174 bursaries to students and hiring 155 graduates.
