Hansen Transmissions South Africa

Hansen Industrial Transmissions South Africa has been a specialist drive solutions partner to Southern Africa’s mining, materials handling, mineral processing, water treatment, mixer and cooling tower industries for over 40 years.

It was the first company to standardise the production of gear units, which resulted in the launch of the legendary Hansen Patent-1 by David Hansen in 1950. Since then, the company has become a market leader in the supply of a comprehensive range of high-quality, reliable mechanical power transmission and drive solutions.

Hansen Industrial Transmissions South Africa’s turnkey product offering includes the Hansen P4 large industrial gearbox, the Hansen I4 invertible gearbox, the Hansen M4ACC air-cooled condenser, as well as single-stage gear units and rigid flange couplings. The product range was recently augmented with the addition of the Paramax gearbox range.

Acknowledged as a centre of excellence for mining within the global Hansen Industrial Transmissions Group, the company recently expanded its African footprint with a primary focus on the coal mining, materials handling and power generation market sectors.

To remain steadfast in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships and supporting its substantial installed base across the continent, Hansen Industrial Transmissions South Africa continues to deliver precision engineering and superior-quality drive solutions, supported by service excellence.

Hansen Industrial Transmissions South Africa is a local subsidiary of Belgium’s Hansen Industrial Transmissions and a division of Japan’s Sumitomo Drive Technologies.
