Global Demand For Bolon Woven Vinyl Flooring

Woven vinyl flooring designer and manufacturer, Bolon, will be one of the many top global names to showcase their wide range of new products at KBAC Flooring’s annual expo of the latest trends in flooring on October 25 from 3pm to 10pm at the Johannesburg Country Club in Woodmead.

KBAC Flooring was recently appointed as the sole southern African distributor of Bolon which was founded in Stockholm in 1949, and internationally pioneered the development and production of woven vinyl floor coverings.

Two recent noteworthy overseas projects for which Bolon flooring was specified are for the upgrading of the  Accenture building in Amsterdam, and new offices for Cisco Mertaki in San Fransisco.  CBRE Design was in charge of the revamp of the multi-level Accenture building in Amsterdam. The modern interiors of the global professional service company were given a massive facelift with the installation of 1035m2 of Bolon Studio Wings flooring. The geometrical flooring pattern achieved by Bolon’s Create Inducto range provides three-dimensional effects which playfully dance with the buildings unique architectural features.

The new premises for digital company, Cisco Meraki, in San Francisco features a colourful combination of Bolon flooring tiles to cover 1350m2 of office floor. The mixed flooring, designed by Conklin Brothers, is delicately combined with panels in raw wood and design furniture to provide a contemporary look with a graphic feeling of nature inside.

KBAC Flooring expects Bolon to become very popular with the local interior design fraternity, particularly because of Bolon's emphasis on sustainability at a time when Green Building has become increasingly imperative. Bolon has been implementing a progressive and inclusive environmental improvement programme, Bolon Green, in all areas of its operations for many years, which has led to the company being certified to leading global environmental standards such as GreenTag, FloorScore, and the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM).

Bolon has also complied with ISO 14001 certification for the company's Environmental Management System (EMS) since 1999. The flooring is recyclable and phthalate-free. The company uses 40% recycled materials in its flooring’s backing and Bolon products are Green Tag-certified.
