Country manager for London-listed Pensana’s Angola-based Longonjo rare earths project Geraldine Tchimbali has been nominated for the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining (WIM100) – a biennial publication released by industry organisation Women in Mining UK, highlighting the achievements of women within the global mining industry.

“[Geraldine] has been an enthusiastic member of the exploration team which has made potentially significant discoveries at the Coola project 75 km north of Longonjo.

“She has also been a passionate advocate for the project and the benefits it will bring to her community in terms of jobs and investment in local businesses. She regularly speaks on [television] and to government and hosts site visits.

“Geraldine’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics background, local knowledge and passion for the energy transition is an inspiration to us all. We need more Geraldines to make the world a better place,” says Pensana chairperson Paul Atherley.
