NOTHING BUT QUALITY The range was designed to produce a competitively priced, versatile and modular genset that is fast and easy to install

In response to market requirements for a stationary quality generator set (genset), power solutions provider HIMOINSA launched the new HS stationary genset range in October.

HIMOINSA Southern Africa business development director Matthew Bell explains that the design of the range resulted in the removal of unnecessary components for a stationary application.

For example, the design features of the industrial and rental ranges include unique lifting points and lifting eyes to avoid bending and displacement of components when moved regularly around mine or construction sites. The HS stationary range design focus is based around the modularity and ease of installation for applications where the unit remains in one place.

However, the HS stationary gensets range still maintains the highest quality for all its components and accessories. The HIMOINSA commitment to quality is reflected in the warranties for the units which are two years or 1 000 hours (whichever comes first) for standby applications and two years or 4 000 hours (whichever comes first) for prime related power applications. These warranty terms are best-in-class and demonstrate HIMOINSA’s commitment to quality across both the industrial range and this new stationary range.

“The range was designed to produce a competitively priced, versatile and modular genset that is fast and easy to install, as well as maintain the highest levels of quality.”

Bell adds that the range comprises 10 kVA, 25 kVA and 50 kVA, at 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with three different canopy sizes available to house the different kVA models – depending on power output.

The engine powering the range is designed by Japanese diesel engine manufacturer Yanmar, exclusively for HIMOINSA, he adds.

Some of the gensets in the HS stationary range are equipped with a built-in automatic transfer switch panel in the control panel to make it easier to connect to the grid without having to use an external automatic stationary transfer switch panel elsewhere in the room.

Other versions have external switching, with different control panels and power configurations, depending on client requirements.

Bell adds that the HS stationary range has been designed to guarantee user-friendly installation.

“Some of the gensets in the range include fully removable doors. This ensures ease of installation even when space limitations arise and it allows for full access to the engine and alternator components for proper maintenance.”

Further, the modular and versatile design incorporates metal fuel tanks with varying capacities and running times, elaborates Bell.

“This enables clients to choose which fuel tank best suits their needs, and they can also upgrade it when the project requires them to do so.”

Bell adds that the new design is an ideal option for residential or populated applications, owing to the new silencer design that ensures comfortable sound and emission levels in industrial environments.

The new design also offers the possibility of installing a sound attenuation kit, depending on a project’s requirements, he concludes.
