Pioneers of wind energy in South Africa

Established in 2008, G7 Renewable Energies is at the forefront of South Africa’s burgeoning renewable-energy industry and prides itself on championing the adoption and development of renewable technologies in the country.

Team of experts

G7 founder and director Nicolas Rolland explains that the company draws on the in-depth knowledge and global experience of its’ team of experts focusing on all aspects of wind farm development.

Investing in youth and jobs 

G7 sees youth development in South Africa as a key priority and more than 80% of its 33 interns over the past few years are now working in the renewable energy industry.  “We firmly believe in the huge potential for job creation in the wind energy industry, especially among the youth,” asserts G7 co-founder and MD Kilian Hagemann. 

Focusing on wind energy, G7 strives to work towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 7: namely “access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”, also the inspiration for its name.
