Project Description
The project entails the construction Form Energy’s first high-volume manufacturing facility in the US, which will have a production capacity of 500 MW/y of batteries when in full operation.

The manufacturing facility will employ at least 750 people when operating at full capacity.
Capital Expenditure
The facility represents a total direct investment of up to $760-million, with a financial incentive package from the state of West Virginia worth an estimated $290-million in asset-based, performance financing.
Planned Start/End Date
The project broke ground in May 2023.
Form Energy will begin manufacturing and assembling its iron-air battery systems at the Weirton factory for broad commercialisation in mid- to late 2024.
