Fluor establishes a Multi-Projects Group® to offer Scalable Project Solutions

Fluor South Africa has established a Multi-Projects Group® to assist clients with lean, cost effective engineering, procurement and construction services for small- to medium-sized projects.

“This execution approach is instrumental in offering our clients capital cost efficiency, specifically customised for small- and medium-sized projects,” said Alejandro Escalona, general manager Fluor Sub- Saharan Africa. “We are now able to deliver projects with an exceptional value and cost balance together with an improved turnaround time due to this lean and standardised approach.”

“Our integrated solutions approach to project execution, including Fluor’s Zero Based ExecutionSM platform, is the basis for predictable, reliable and cost effective project solutions,” adds Escalona. The group consists of skilled professionals experienced in multi-project execution using Fluor’s established procedures and expertise gained across industries and projects.

“We also engage with our offices in the Netherlands, USA and Philippines so that Fluor’s global expertise can be integrated into the client’s team to support local project execution,” said Escalona. He adds that the group performs front-end, FEED and detailed engineering, as well as procurement and full construction management services. “We are very proud of our efforts to treat client money as our own”.

Current MPG projects include: revamp of a refinery water effluent unit including API separators; a new water treatment plant via reverse osmosis; a vapour recovery unit; sulphur degassing unit and an electrostatic precipitator. Fluor’s Multi-Projects Group® also assists clients to meet environmental permit requirements on time and in a cost efficient manner.

Fluor is a global engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and maintenance company and has been present in Sub Saharan Africa for more than 57 years and has executed some of South Africa’s landmark projects.
