EZY Switchgear

Founded in 2019, EZY Switchgear specialises in switchgear refurbishment with a particular focus on complex SF6 gas insulated switchgear.

The complicated nature of gas insulated switchgear requires the expertise of a highly skilled and trusted service provider and EZY Switchgear’s vast experience and knowledge ensures successful implementation of site services and completion of projects.

EZY Switchgear’s refurbishment factory specialises in repairs and refurbishment of ABB, Schneider, Siemens and TGood secondary switchgear, also called Ring Main Units, or RMU, such as the SafeRing, SafePlus and RM6. EZY Switchgear is synonymous with reliability and all EZY
quality repairs, equipment and projects are backed by a 12 month warranty. In addition, all EZY Switchgear projects undergo comprehensive testing and are signed off by a professional engineer before handover.

Located at 904 Caledon Street, Daspoort, Pretoria, the EZY Switchgear facility encompasses a 300m2 undercover area on a leased 600m2 site. The company has a streamlined structure with low overheads, allowing EZY to provide services at a fraction of the original-equipment manufacturer costs.

EZY Switchgear has a Level 2 broad-based black economic empowerment shareholding, with a turnover of R10- million to R15-million a year. It focusses on projects valued at R150 000 to R14-million – a sector that is underserviced by larger consultancies and contractors.

EZY Switchgear has completed a number of significant projects over the last year, including the upgrade of VKB Mills in Mokopane, LFC Mills in Wesselsbron, BCL Limited in Botswana and Mulilo De Aar solar farm.

EZY Switchgear follows a very strict quality process and every unit is tested three times before it leaves the EZY workshop. A unit is stripped to its barebones and rebuilt using the correct materials and spares. In addition,  EZY Switchgear has all the test equipment required to provide a test certificate to its customers.
