Engen Refinery to undergo 21-day maintenance shutdown

South Africa’s second largest oil refinery Engen Refinery will undergo a planned 21-day maintenance shutdown, starting on September 19.

“The planned outage will primarily focus on essential plant maintenance and inspection activities, as well as process regeneration activities,” says Engen Refinery GM Jehan Zaib.

Additional resources over this period will see the creation of about 650 temporary positions for skilled workers, who have largely been sourced from the local community.
