A new range of electric compressors designed specifically to reduce pressure losses while increasing efficiencies, is now available.
The compressors present a number of innovations in design and performance, including an encapsulated EN Series airend and a three-stage air-oil separation system.
The technology used in the design of the airend encapsulates functional systems such as intake, compression and separation within a common frame, aimed at delivering silent operation.
The three-stage air-oil separation system reduces oil particles to less than 3 ppm. The air-cooling system comprises coolers and cooling fans to ensure low operating temperatures, with the aim of extending compressor life.
The two-stage air filtration system facilitates air entry through a pre-filtered enclosure, enabling cleaner suction and keeping internal components clean to increase the life of consumables.
ELGi’s electric screw air compressors are available from 5.5 kW to 15 kW for smaller air requirements (EN Series) and from 22 kW to 250 kW for medium and large applications (EG Series).
The electric range is powered by an IP55 electric motor. The new generation intake valve system has been designed to reduce starting load, with the aim of saving on power consumption.
The custom designed and engineered Neuron Controller allows for remote monitoring and control of the compressor’s overall performance.
Routine maintenance points on the electric range are accessed through a single service door. A spin-on oil filter and separator elements facilitate faster routine service and limited downtime.
Integrated Air Solutions is the sole regional distributor for ELGi compressors and is able to locally customise the compressors under original equipment manufacture approval. The high-pressure diesel-driven units are mostly used for key applications in South Africa’s water well, exploration, post hole, down-the-hole (DTH) and auger drilling segments.
The screw compressor elements of the generators are manufactured in-house using machining centres for rotor grinding and machining castings of different sizes.
Integrated Air Solutions offers a service package that includes all compressor parts and accessories. The company offers installation and commissioning services and also tests the large electric machines, rebuilds air-ends and offers air audit capabilities. In addition, the company offers training on the new electric screw air compressors.
