The Council of SAIMechE is pleased to announce the election of its Office Bearers for the 2020-2022 Council session.
The Council congratulates its office bearers on their election and commits their full support during the session.
Mr Hangwani Makwarela has been elected President of SAIMechE for the 2020-2022 Council session.
Hangwani is a registered Professional Engineer and the founder and CEO of Muteo Consulting, which has been providing multi-disciplinary engineering consulting and project management services since 2004.
His work experience is in maintenance, production and engineering consulting environments, which span steel-making, FMCG, power generation, water supply and construction industries. Hangwani served as SAIMechE Vice-President during the 2018-2020 Council session
Ms Portia Moketla has been elected Vice-President of SAIMechE for the 2020-2022 Council session.
Portia is a Professional Engineer with 7 years of industry experience in Defence, Energy and Mining industries. Portia has a passion for developing the engineering profession and is currently part of the review panel for Mechanical Engineering at ECSA. Portia is also the current Chairperson of SAIMechE's Central Branch.
Mr Tertius Bosman has been elected National Treasurer for the 2020-2022 Council session
Tertius served on Council during the 2018-2020 session. He also serves on the SAIMechE Highveld Branch, with the portfolio of CPD and mentorship. Tertius is a registered Professional Engineer and was part of the founding members of MegChem and is currently an Executive Manager for all the engineering disciplines excluding the Piping and Metallurgical divisions. In his free time, he likes to create, fix and build things, and has successfully built and restored a couple of guitars, a violin and two custom motorcycles amongst others.
