ECDC closes offices as staff members contract Covid-19, CFO dies

Fund management company, the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, has closed its Queenstown regional office and its East London head office until further notice to allow for decontamination measures.

Five staff members have contracted Covid-19 since June 30.

The corporation reported the death of its CFO Sivuyile Bulube, on July 13, owing to Covid-19-related complications.

He joined the corporation in April 2015 as senior manager in management accounting, while he served as CFO from March 1, 2019.

The corporation advises that, of the five infected employees, two have since recovered.

The ECDC is the official economic development and investment agency for the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
