KwaZulu-Natal-based special economic zone (SEZ) Dube TradePort is accepting new internship applications for 2017 through its user-friendly digital platform, allowing applicants to apply online, with the ability to photograph and upload documents using their smart phones.

Now in its fourth year of operation, the Dube TradePort Corporation’s internship programme has taken on 89 graduates, with 40% having secured permanent jobs in the industry.

The SEZ continues to play a significant role in developing the economic prosperity of South Africa, having already attracted over R 1.4-billion in private sector investment, which has resulted in the creation of over 1 743 valuable permanent job opportunities within its precinct.

“Skills development is a priority for our organisation’s continued growth, and it's for this reason that we have put together a comprehensive internship programme that offers graduates a rich understanding of their chosen profession, through an integrated regime that includes on-the-job training and mentorship,” says Dube Tradeport corporate affairs executive Zodwa Mbatha

He states that the organisation’s legacy of development has been given greater impetus through the internship and in-service training programme, where graduates are afforded the opportunity to enhance their academic knowledge with work experience in an industry setting, giving them the necessary skills to enter the job market.

The closing date for applications is September 30.
