Project Description
The Douala Grand Mall is part of a larger development that will eventually include a five-star hotel, offices and residential apartments.
The development will reportedly be Central Africa’s largest mall when complete, with a built floor area of about 25 600 m2, comprising
18 732 m2 of lettable retail on its two levels.
The ground floor of the complex will have 14 160 m2 of retail space, while the 11 520 m2 first floor will include a modern conference centre, cinemas, a food court and retail space. There will also be underground parking.
Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create about 4 500 jobs.
Value
€45-million. The project is being funded by Actis.
Duration
Earthworks began in January 2018, and handover is scheduled for November 2019.
