UK-based mineral exploration and development company Cornish Lithium said it has strengthened its management team with the appointment of three new members, namely Neil Elliot as corporate development manager, Kate Harcourt as environment, social and governance (ESG) officer, and Kathy Hicks as an advisory environmental consultant.

Elliot was most recently a director in financial services provider BMO’s UK ECM and Corporate Broking team. He has a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.

Harcourt has a BSc (Hons) in Natural Environmental Science from the University of Sheffield and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London.  She currently holds the position of nonexecutive director to Aim-listed mining company Condor Gold, TSX-listed Roxgold and TSX-V-listed Orezone Gold, and sits on the ESG committee advising the board of Aim-listed Hummingbird Resources.

Hicks, a mining geologist and chartered environmentalist, is director of the Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals and a member of the Cornwall Mining Alliance Steering Committee.

“On behalf of Cornish Lithium, I would like to offer Neil, Kate and Kathy a warm welcome to the company. We are delighted to have such esteemed mining and ESG professionals join us and guide our practices as we work towards the development of our exciting portfolio which is set to produce battery-quality lithium for the UK automotive and battery industries.

“As we continue to develop projects, including the construction of a pilot plant at the United Downs Deep Geothermal project and exploration activities at both our hard rock and geothermal sites across Cornwall, I believe that this is the opportune time to expand our team and bring further expertise into the company,” says Cornish CEO and founder Jeremy Wrathall.
