KRIBAN GOVENDER It is critical for customers to have dependable support from a highly experienced team with combined technical skills and expertise

Industrial equipment and tools supplier Industri Tools & Equipment has recently launched as, part of distributor and technical services solution provider Engineering Solutions Group, a subsidiary of investment holding and management company Invicta Holdings Limited to supply and support all industrial sectors in Southern Africa.

Through the consolidation of six independent tooling companies – engineering tools and equipment supplier Man-Dirk, machine tool dealer Tool Quip & Allied, tools provider SA Tool, tools and allied engineering equipment supply company Sibuyile Industrial Supplies, tooling and filtration specialists Gem Tool and machine tools supplier F&H Machine Tools – Industri Tools & Equipment is well positioned to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity for a broad customer base.

“The local market will benefit from a unified tools and equipment business, which offers a comprehensive range of quality branded products, through the streamlined procurement of effective tools, through a broader distribution network.

“This range extends from hand tools for the DIY handyman, to large-scale supply projects into mining, power generation and industrial sectors,” explains Industri Tools & Equipment MD Kriban Govender.

He adds that it is critical for customers to have dependable support from a highly- experienced team with combined technical skills and expertise.

Industri Tools & Equipment has greater buying power for reduced costs and this, coupled with the fast and effective supply chain, means increased value for customers.

Since the launch, there has been minimal administrative impact from the restructure, instead customers have commented only about the benefits of simplified processes and quicker turnaround times, he explains.

The company’s extensive product offering is available from seven specialist divisions, namely tools and equipment, cutting tools, welding products, lifting equipment, personal protective equipment products, locks and machine tools.

Govender notes that the manufacturing division offers workshop repairs and services, as well as the production of a wide range of custom-made industrial materials including welding screens, strip curtains, fire blankets, spill mats, tarpaulins and dam liners.

The new company, with its head office in Benrose, Johannesburg, is supported by a national network, with branches in South Africa and Namibia.

Industri Tools & Equipment has a prominent online presence, with an interactive website that provides relevant product and company information. The company’s ambition is to launch an online ecommerce portal within 12 months, he concludes.
