Company holds premium reputation in valves industry

LARGE HOLDING ENERGYValves boasts a vast stock-holding of its flagship range of competitively priced ball valves which can be considered as commodity products

Stainless steel and special alloy valves supplier Energy Valves, a division of single-source supplier of corrosion resistant and other specialist alloys EMVAfrica, holds a solid reputation as a leading supplier of premium quality valve solutions.

“Several differentiating factors have earned us our leadership position in Southern Africa’s valve industry. We have adopted a 360˚ approach. We are a solutions provider rather than just a mere product supplier and we offer a range of premium quality valves. We also have large stock holding capabilities and a skilled and knowledgeable team that delivers exceptional service,” states Energy Valves division manager Anesh Prithilall.

Energy Valves is ISO 9001: 2015 certified which means that quality is fundamental throughout the division’s product and service suite. While stainless steel forms the bulk of its valves offering, Energy Valves also supplies Duplex stainless steel, titanium, 904L, zirconium, nickel alloys as well as numerous other high-performance alloys. Prithilall adds that valves in lower steel grades, such as carbon steels, are also available.

The division’s extensive product portfolio includes ball, knife gate, wedge gate, check, needle, and pressure relief valves as well as butterfly valves which are available in a variety of different material combinations.

“We boast a vast stock-holding of our flagship range of competitively priced ball valves which, owing to their popularity in a number of industries, can be considered as commodity products,” notes Prithilall.

Some of the company’s best sellers include two piece flanged ball valves in various grades and one piece and three piece threaded ball valves in stainless steel 316.

“We recently introduced our own double-acting and spring return pneumatic actuators in keeping in step with the global shift from traditional manually operated production and manufacturing facilities to full automation. This is also in line with our objective of becoming a leading supplier in the automated valves space,” affirms Prithilall.

He states that this move not only sees the company expanding its valves portfolio but also positions the company competitively in the actuation industry with a product of similar quality but at a much more competitive price.

Prithilall adds that Energy Valves also supplies and fits pneumatic actuators which are suitable to their ball and butterfly valve offering. A valve actuation service comprising a fully equipped workshop further complements Energy Valves’ extensive product suite.

Enenrgy Valves products are widely used across a spectrum of applications in mineral processing, water treatment, petrochemicals, oil and gas, food and beverage, power generation and mining. According to Prithilall, mining and water treatment hold the most potential which he says are also the company’s biggest sectors alongside petrochemical.

Water treatment, a fairly new sector for Energy Valves, has opened up substantially over the past four years. Prithilall points out that the petroleum industry presents the biggest challenge as they require valves which must only be supplied by accredited mills.

Satisfied customers are reporting on Energy Valves’ reliable and turnkey supply, testifying to its excellent stock-holding capabilities that position the division in the front of the supply chain. “Our smart approach to stock-holding means high product availability and rapid delivery, ensuring customers of minimum downtime.”

Energy Valves supports its valves suite with a comprehensive service offering that encompasses valve repairs and servicing, technical advice and free delivery within Gauteng and Cape Town.

“The fact that our premium product quality is matched by our service quality sets us apart in the industry. And when it comes to service our trump card is without any doubt our passionate and skilled teams,” notes Prithilall.

Energy Valves’ experienced projects team has extensive technical know-how and expertise in special alloys coupled with an in-depth understanding of the products’ performance in corrosive and challenging industrial environments. “We are thus able to supply complete valve solutions for turnkey projects in the water treatment and petrochemical industries for applications such as reverse osmosis, desalination and gas,” says Prithilall.

Energy Valves has an installed base of well over 2 000 valves in water treatment plants and about 300 Duplex and super Duplex valves are used with great success in highly corrosive sea water applications where normal grades of stainless steel will corrode quickly.

Looking forward to its 2021 valves journey, Prithilall says Energy Valves is planning to stock electric actuators as early as January 2021. The signing of an agreement with a globe control valve supplier by June 2020 is also on the cards.

“These new additions to our range position us as a turnkey valves supplier with the ability to offer a much broader spectrum to satisfy a more diverse clientèle. We remain committed to providing only the finest quality products coupled with unrivalled service excellence to meet our customers individual needs irrespective of the application,” concludes Prithilall.
