Compact precision: iF Design Award for Jungheinrich's ERE 225i

Jungheinrich's ERE 225i electric pallet truck won the world-renowned iF Design Award in the "Automobiles and Vehicles" category on Monday. The truck impressed the jury with a high level of innovation and outstanding design quality. With its lithium-ion battery fully integrated into the truck chassis, the ERE 225i uniquely combines agility, safety, comfort and sustainability.

"Successful design visualises the characteristics of a product and offers user orientation all at once," says Andreas Knie, industrial designer at Jungheinrich. "With the ERE 225i, all our performance promises that Jungheinrich customers can rely on become clear at first glance: It is more compact, more comfortable and safer than any other truck in its class, and it shows."

Thanks to the innovative design of the ERE 225i, the truck's L2 dimension is 270 mm shorter than its predecessor. This significantly reduces the turning circle of the vehicle. Drivers benefit from considerably improved manoeuvrability, which enables safe transport operations in the smallest of spaces. Fixed side guards provide optimum protection, whilst ensuring a high level of working comfort.

According to the iF Design Award jury, all this makes the ERE 225i one of the best vehicles in its class in many respects. This is also reflected in the consistently high points awarded. In a three-day selection process, the jury consisting of 75 renowned international design experts determined this year's winners. In total, the iF Design Award again honoured creative brands, newcomers and start-ups in nine disciplines and a total of 81 categories for excellent design in 2022.

"We are very pleased to have won this renowned design award with the ERE 225i. It is not only an outstanding award for us as a design team, but also an appreciation and motivation for all those who have contributed to the creation of the product," says Knie.
