COLLAPSING CONFIDENCE

COLLAPSING CONFIDENCE

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (Sacci’s) business confidence index fell to a 16-and-a-half-year low in June. The Sacci publication followed hot on the heels of the release of the consumer-confidence print for the second quarter, which collapsed to a 14-and-a-half-year low. Given the importance of both indicators, there is now even more concern about the outlook for the economy for the rest of the year.
