COLD WAR ECHOES

The emergence of unidentified, yet Russian-linked, troops in Crimea, following a popular uprising against Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich, rattled Western politicians and global markets. It’s uncertain whether or not the Cold War-like intervention could set a precedent for a new pattern of diplomacy (or the lack thereof) in other global hotspots.
