Cesa calls on incoming govt to not lose grip on infrastructure development

Cesa CEO Chris Campbell

Consulting Engineers South Africa (Cesa) CEO Chris Campbell highlights the importance of ensuring that infrastructure development and service delivery continue uninterrupted, as South Africa heads into national elections in May.

Regardless of the political landscape, the country’s progress and wellbeing depends on the continuous improvement and maintenance of infrastructure, he stresses.

Like many others, he considers infrastructure development and service delivery to be the backbone of any thriving society and that it impacts every facet of life, from transportation and communication to healthcare and education.

Campbell explains that periods of political transition often lead to uncertainties and delays in infrastructure development progress, but government can help ensure these transitions do not derail the progress already made in infrastructure development.

He calls on the incoming government to do effective planning, execution and maintenance of infrastructure projects, lest the country’s growth path be hindered.
