Project Description
Catalina will integrate 1.1 GW of wind and solar photovoltaic generation assets connected to a 500 MW electrolyser capable of producing more than 84 000 t/y of green hydrogen, a pipeline of 221 km with a storage capacity up to 300 t and an ammonia plant with a production capacity of 247 000 t of green ammonia.

Catalina will produce up to 84 000 t/y of green hydrogen, equivalent to more than 15% of the current total hydrogen consumption in Spain. The development will prevent the emission of more than 3.1-million tonnes of carbon dioxide in the first ten years.

Potential Job Creation
About 8000 jobs are expected to be created during the construction and installation phases.

Capital Expenditure
€2.35-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is expected to enter into operation by December 2027.
