Capacitance probes allow interference-free operation

3rd September 2019

Capacitance probes detect the presence or absence of material in contact with the probe by sensing very small changes (as low as 0.5 pF) in capacitance caused by the difference in the dielectric constant of the material versus the air.

Capacitance probes are point level indicators, used mainly for high or low level detection in bins, tanks or silos.

BinMaster capacitance probes aim to provide fail-safe, interference-free operation with quickset calibration functionality.

The probes work below the radio frequency level of 9 kHz, at 6 kHz, to prevent interference with two-way radios or other equipment operating in the radio spectrum.

In addition, the probes are seen as an affordable, flexible solution for level detection in bins, tanks or silos.

The probes aim to perform accurately even in dusty, sticky or clinging materials. Class II hazardous location ratings and an assortment of extensions can be custom-built according to specific requirements, making the point-level sensors suitable for a variety of solid, liquid and slurry materials.
