Strategy consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has promoted MD and senior partner Lisa Ivers to head of its African operations.

She succeeds Patrick Dupoux, who joined BCG’s global executive committee.

Ivers joined the BCG Paris office in 2006. She moved to Casablanca, Morocco, in 2009 to establish BCG's first African office.

In 2018, she took over as the head of the Casablanca office to accelerate the office’s expansion and diversify its areas of operation.

Ivers works with multinationals in sectors including mining, energy, distribution and the agro-food industry.

She has also contributed to numerous sectoral reform projects in Africa over the past ten years, BCG points out.

Ivers has authored several publications on the emergence of African economies and was elected a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2019.

At BCG, Lisa also co-leads the Women Initiative programme, which focuses on improving diversity, inclusion and women’s participation in the economy and society.

She is a graduate of HEC Paris and began her career as a strategic analyst at BNP Paribas before joining BCG.

“Having established BCG’s first African office in 2009, Lisa is the ideal candidate to lead our continued expansion of our operations across Africa. She knows the teams that operate across Africa, she has a deep understanding of BCG’s values and purpose and a clear vision of the impactful role that BCG can continue to play in Africa,” says Dupoux.
