Aurex Constructors opens Bokhabane Training and Assessment Centre in Sasolburg

Aurex Constructors delivers quality Construction, Turnaround and Maintenance projects for blue-chip customers on some of the largest energy plants in South Africa. At the core of all successful projects is an experienced team led by highly skilled experts. Everyone who makes up the project team plays an integral role that contributes to the successful execution and handover of each unique project to the customer.

In the fast paced, high-risk project environment, it is imperative that all employees are able to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Every delegate applying for employment with the company is assessed prior to appointment to ensure that they are competent in their discipline and work according to the standards of excellence that the company strives to achieve.

The Bokhabane Training and Assessment Centre was opened in August this year in Jupiter Street, Sasolburg to undertake assessments of potential new recruits at Aurex. Assessments have already begun with mechanical resources and will soon include all resources required for multi-discipline construction and shutdown projects. Safety is crucial at Aurex and continuously focused on in all aspects of work performed by the company and included in all undertakings at the Bokhabane Centre.

Delegates attend theory and practical sessions which have been developed in-house. They are tested on skillsets that include stripping and assembly exercises where they address flange management and joint integrity processes.

Stuart Kent, CEO at Aurex said, “Aurex is committed to upskilling people in the communities where we work. The skills assessments are crucial within our business to ensure we place the best suited worker for a particular position. Where possible, individuals will be developed at the Centre to assist them to further their personal careers, grow in their personal lives and add value to the community at large.”
