PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior Argosy Minerals has acquired two additional tenements totaling 1 056 ha to add to its Rincon lithium project, in Argentina.

The company on Wednesday said that the tenements, which were currently progressing through the application process, would be transferred to joint venture partner Puna Mining S.A upon the completion of standard regulatory procedures.

“This acquisition confirms Argosy has the intent, determination and now the capacity and scale to continue its aggressive development strategy to fast-track towards commercial production of battery grade lithium product. We are committed to building a substantial lithium production company,” said Argosy MD Jerko Zuvela.

The Rincon project now comprises some 2 345 ha of tenement, expected to host significant lithium.

Zuvela said that Argosy would continue to review and assess additional mining concessions to add to the Rincon project.
