Aller Aqua Zambia, a joint venture between TMC Holdings (Mauritius) and Aller Aqua Group (Denmark), and Yalelo.

Project Description

The project involves the construction of a fish feed factory, with a capacity of 50 000 t/y of feed.

The factory will be situated on the shore of Lake Kariba.

The footprint of the feed mill will be about 5 ha, in the northern part of Yalelo’s property. It will consist of the main processing plant, a raw materials warehouse, storage facilities and an unloading area, a finished-product ware-house and loading are, a boiler house, a canteen, showers and an administration block. The feed mill will use the effluent treatment ponds at the Yalelo farm.

Tilapia farming company Yalelo will be the main offtaker of the feed produced, with the remaining feed to be sold to third parties.

The project involves an investment of more than $10-million.

Duration

The project is expected to be completed by mid-2017.
