Leading consulting engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Zutari has appointed Dr Ngao Motsei and Ms Althea Discala as Non-Executive Directors with effect from 1 July 2022.

Dr Motsei is an ICF-certified and accredited integral coach. She lectures and consults in the fields of leadership and culture in various corporate executive education programmes. She brings academic rigour and an applied people and ethics-centred approach to governance, growth, and sustainability, to the board.

Ms Discala has close to 20 years business, commercial, finance, and investment experience, and is a strategically and operationally focused leader. As a seasoned Chartered Accountant (SA), she has extensive senior and executive corporate experience in financial services, banking, and investment institutions.

“We have a responsibility, now more than ever, to place diversity and inclusion at the core of our business operations, including at Board level,” says Zutari Chairperson Dr Lulu Gwagwa. The latest appointments will bolster the Zutari Board in overseeing the company and supporting the management team.

The appointment of Dr Motsei and Ms Discala follows the retirement of Non-Executive Directors Ms Zohra Ebrahim and Mr Mzimkulu Msiwa from the Board on 30 June. “The Board wishes to thank Ms Ebrahim and Mr Msiwa for their contribution and leadership through exciting and challenging times over the past years,” concludes Dr Gwagwa.

Dr Motsei served as full-time Faculty, Lecturer and Lead Faculty for the MBA in Management Consulting and the Global Executive Development Programme at GIBS, as well as Faculty in the GIBS/Harvard Senior Executive Programme – Africa from January 2016 to January 2022.

Ms Discala holds an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and has written a thesis on impact investing in financial institutions. She has a demonstrable track record in growing business while ensuring long-term sustainability.
