Platinum group metals miner Wesizwe Platinum on August 22 informed its shareholders that Bakubung Platinum Mine has successfully re-opened and resumed activities.

Operations ground to a halt in July after employees embarked on an unprotected strike.

The company and employees have since reached an agreement to end the strike.

“Going forward, all matters of this nature will be handled in terms of a collective agreement to be signed between the employer and the employee representatives within 30 days of ending the strike,” Wesizwe states.
