A water pump specifically for the CAT 3500 engine series has been introduced by IPD and is the first water pump engineered, manufactured and tested by IPD.

The company explains that it developed the pump as a result of market demands for a reliable quality part that does not leak or fail. It asserts that the IPD pump is a significant improvement on the water pump #4160610 – previously model #2128177.

IPD explains that its designers used the most advanced three-dimensional scanning and coordinate measurement machine technologies to create the precision water pump. The unit includes the highest quality materials and components, with precision-machined cast-iron housings and impellers, as well as steel shafts and bronze thrust washers. Ceramic, spring-loaded water seals are used, with Teflon lip-type hydrodynamic oil seals.

In addition, the company ensures that its quality assurance team inspects every pump for leakage, pressure and flow.

The company says that its use of  innovative packaging helps to ensure that new pumps arrive in perfect condition. Recyclable plastic caps protect the bearings during shipping and prevent debris from infiltrating the pumps, and rigid, custom-fit foam inserts help to provide further protection.
